David Myers began his career in the fastener industry in 1981 when he & Bob Coburn started Coburn-Myers Bolt & Nut. His role in the early years as vice president focused on sales and marketing calling on customer the old fashion way, face to face. In 1995 his partner Bob Coburn retired from the industry and he took over the company as president & CEO. In 1996 the company name changed to Coburn-Myers Fastening Systems to give it more up to date name that reflected the company’s capabilities. In 1998 the company started manufacturing, modifying, threading and secondary operation to provide quick turn-around parts for its key customers. His vision of providing quality products with the shortest lead time to its OEM & MRO customers has been his success to date.
In 2003 with a phone call from Lee Johnson outlining his vision to start a fastener association in the Mid-Atlantic region he agreed to be part of the inaugural committee. Later the week he met with Lee & Chuck Halpin at The Turf Club in Glen Mill to begin the formation of the Mid-Atlantic Fastener Distributor Association. From its early beginning he has been a board member of the association providing his input to provide value to the association members and scholarships opportunities to their family members. In 2014 he was elected as treasure of MAFDA and still currently hold that position.
